What is Teraganix EM1?

We use the official Teraganix formula of EM1 originally formulated by Dr. Teruo Higa in Japan during 1980.

EM1 contains multiple strains of lactobacillus (LABS), photosynthetic bacteria (PNSB) and yeast(saccharomyces).

What does EM1 do?

EM1 provides numerous benefits that contribute to healthier and more robust plant growth. Here are some of the main ways in which EM1 helps plants grow:

- Disease Suppression: The lactobacillus in EM1 compete with and suppress harmful pathogens, such as disease-causing bacteria, fungi and endophytes. By colonizing the plant's surface and rhizosphere (root zone) with lactic acid, they create a protective barrier, preventing pathogenic organisms from establishing themselves. This is known as 'competitive exclusion' and reduces the risk of plant diseases ever taking hold. EM1 has been scientifically proven to protects against fusarium in the soil and bortryitis in the leaves and plant surface.

- Enhanced Nutrient Availability: The microorganisms in EM1 work synergistically to break down organic matter and release nutrients in a form that plants can readily absorb. This improves nutrient availability in the soil, releasing nutrients that might otherwise be locked up or unavailable to plants. Additionally, they help convert organic materials into humus, which improves soil CEC and retains moisture, further benefiting plant growth.  This means that you save money on fertilizer costs!

- Accelerated Composting: EM1 can be used in composting processes to speed up decomposition. The microorganisms break down organic materials more rapidly, resulting in a rich, nutrient-dense compost that can be used to nourish plants. The accelerated composting process also helps to suppress odors and minimize the attraction of pests.
